Fire Tag - A running game of true stories about California Chaparral

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Fire Tag is a game, a simulation, and a gateway - a gateway to understanding life and fire ecology in Southern California through movement and play. Players take on one of four roles: Grass, Shrub, Fire, and Rain. When the round begins, you run! Fires burn shrubs! Rain waters grass! Pandemonium ensues - but only briefly.

Each round represents a real-life ecological scenario, a scenario connected to a real place and a real time. Over multiple rounds, patterns emerge. When everyone is good and tired, we’ll circle up and discuss those patterns, laying out how they relate to the real-world stories and real-world ecology of Southern California ... and beyond!

P.S. This game requires a mid-sized open space. At least 20’x20’ square. Bigger is better. With a full complement of 20 people, a space 50'x50' would be best.
