COSTUME Contest Rules:

  • Contestants will need to show up at least 15 minutes before the event starts at Emerald Bay 3 . Contestants will model their entries for judges via runway.

  • Each Contestant will fill out a form for each costume submitted.

  • Each entry will be given a number that will be announced prior to the contestant walking the runway.

  • Costumes submitted at previous Wyrd Cons will only be allowed with modifications to the costumes and a member of senior staff’s approval.

  • Judges, MC, and contest staff are not permitted to enter submissions into the contest.

  • Costumes do not have to be completely hand made. Pieces can be store bought as long as the costume is not a set costume. (I.E: no halloween sets)

  • All decisions of judges and senior staff are final.

PROP Contest Rules:

  • Those wishing to enter a prop into the contest must  sign up online or at the registration Desk at Wyrd Con. Each contestant may submit up to three props.

  • Contestants will need to show up at least 15 minutes before the event in Emerald Bay 3. Contestants will orchestrate their presentation in allocated areas. Should the particular Prop be overly large or require special display ( I.E. Not small enough to display the fullness of the creation) will be entered and modeled as per the costume rules, and given a number that must be announced by the MC.

  • Each contestant will fill out a form for each prop submitted, to be displayed with the prop.

  • Props Submitted at previous Wyrd Cons will only be allowed with modifications to the Prop and a member of senior staff’s approval.

  • Judges, MC, and contest staff are not permitted to enter submissions into the contest.

  • Props must be hand made.

  • Proof of construction is required. We reserve the right to request proof or photos of the prop(s) demonstrating construction at anytime.

  • All decisions of judges and senior staff are final.

A panel of judges will determine the Best Overall, the Most Beautiful, the Best Humor, the Best Group Theme, the Scariest, and the Most Creative. The audience will be given ballots and will be able to vote for their personal favorite!
