is a new role-playing game system where music is the GM, determining which scenes are played, what needs to be done, how long the scene lasts, and the pacing/tone of the scene. No familiarity with the songs are required, and during the scene, they're background filler (and a timer). Songlines
scenarios combine traditional dice-rolling (d6s) plus role-playing (sometimes like larp) and making things. They are also genre-neutral, and the system can be used for any setting.
This scenario will be loosely based on the historical figure of Boudica
, queen of the Celtic Iceni tribe, who led her people to revenge against the Romans and burned London to the ground around the year 60 A.D. Also, please be aware that this historical fantasy adventure will have a high degree of physicality, for example, scenes might involve putting real face paint on before imaginary battle, or holding your hand in ice water, or throwing dice into a circle. Player safety is my #1 concern,
but know that players will be asked to do more
than sit in a chair, narrating their actions, and rolling dice (though there will be some of that). No other players/GM will touch your person unless you allow it, i.e., this is opt-in.
Characters will be made prior to play. It is possible for your character to die during the scenario, but there will be alternative characters to play.Content Warnings
: Violence, war, gore, adult themes and language. Torture is a background element which can be minor or mediocre, depending on player preferences. Sexual assault is mentioned as part of backstory (will not be described, just mentioned). Safety techniques such as X-card, OK check, and an open door policy will be used (and explained if you are not familiar with them).
